BICKNELL, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A woman is recovering after a single-vehicle crash earlier this week.
The crash happened Monday on Bicknell Road, just outside of Bicknell.
According to an incident report, a Knox County Sheriff's deputy arrived at the scene to find a Jeep Cherokee had crashed head-on into a tree.
The driver told the deputy that her dog had jumped into her lap and hit the steering wheel, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.
Emergency crews rescued the driver from the vehicle, and she was airlifted to an Evansville hospital for treatment.
The dog was taken to the Vincennes Animal Shelter to be cared for while the woman is in the hospital.
Her current condition has not been released.
