UPDATE: WAKC News Now has confirmed that both drivers were issued citations.

SANDBORN, Ind. (We Are Knox County) – An active water rescue is underway in northern Knox County.

WAKC News Now has confirmed with Knox County Emergency Management that emergency crews are responding to two separate water rescues on State Road 58 near the Knox/Daviess County line, close to Sandborn.

Photos sent to WAKC News Now by the Knox County EMA show what appears to be a box truck that was swept off the road and into a nearby field.

Additional images show a hovercraft in the water making its way toward the vehicle.

Another photo, shared with us by Ali Johnson, offers a different view of the scene.

It shows the floodwater surrounding the box truck and also appears to be a white SUV in the distance.

This marks the third water rescue on State Road 58 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning, a woman’s car was swept away by floodwaters.

Authorities say she had driven into a flooded area marked with road closure signs before being caught in the flood.

This is a developing story.

We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
