VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - Detectives with the Vincennes Police Department have confirmed that the men going door-to-door discussing security systems with homeowners are legitimate.
According to detectives, these individuals work for an unnamed company based in Nashville, Tennessee.
On November 6, the Vincennes Police Department received several calls from residents about men identifying themselves as security company representatives and entering homes to perform “upgrades” to security systems.
Once inside, they reportedly asked homeowners for their security passcodes.
Earlier this week, a Vincennes Police investigator contacted the company’s regional manager to address the employees' behavior with Vincennes residents.
Officials with the Vincennes Police Department say they appreciate the community being proactive in reporting the suspicious activity.
