Planned Power Outage for Vincennes on Wednesday

UPDATE AT 6:30PM ON 05/03/22 - Duke Energy Representative Kurt Phegley told WAKC News Now that they are working on the transformer that provides electricity to the stoplight at Hart Street and Kimmell Road. Due to the work being done, the traffic signal will be out of service for approximately 1 hour beginning at 1:00pm. Power to residents and businesses in the area should not be affected.

ORIGINAL STORY - A portion of Vincennes will be temporarily without power on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.


According to the Vincennes Mayor’s Office, subcontractors with Duke Energy will be working on the high voltage transmission lines near the intersection of Hart Street ad Kimmell Road.


Work will begin around 1:00pm. The outage is expected to last for around 1 hour.


WAKC News Now has reached out to Duke Energy to find out exactly what areas will be affected by the outage. We will update this story once we hear back.
