VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A free training event in Vincennes will teach participants how to respond to opioid overdoses.
During the session, people will learn how to spot the signs of an opioid overdose, how to use Narcan, and what to do while waiting for emergency help.
Free Narcan kits will be given to attendees.
Narcan is a medication that can save lives by reversing an opioid overdose.
It works quickly to restore normal breathing and stop the effects of an overdose.
Narcan is easy to use and can be given in emergency situations to help keep someone alive until help arrives.
The event, which is open to the public, will take place on Wednesday, January 22 at 6:00pm at the Margaret Compton Recovery Hub, located at 509 North. 6th Street in Vincennes, across from the Knox County Public Library.
