Buying Fireworks: You must be 18 or older to buy fireworks.
Using Fireworks: An adult (18 or older) must be present when children use fireworks. If a child uses fireworks without an adult, it can lead to a fine of up to $500.

On your own property
On someone else’s property, if they give you permission
At a place designated by the Indiana State Fire Marshal
When to Use Fireworks:
June 29 - July 3: 5 p.m. until two hours after sunset
July 4: 10 a.m. to midnight
July 5 - 9: 5 p.m. until two hours after sunset
December 31: 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
In Vincennes, fireworks are banned outside these times due to a city ordinance. Outside Vincennes, fireworks are allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Setting off fireworks outside these times can result in a fine.
Penalties for Misuse:
Damaging Property: If you damage property with fireworks, you can face a fine of up to $5,000 and up to one year in prison.
Injuring Someone: If you hurt someone with fireworks, you can face a fine of up to $10,000 and six months to 2.5 years in prison.
Causing a Fatal Accident: If someone dies from a fireworks accident, you can face a fine of up to $10,000 and one to six years in prison.
