KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - A Knox County nonprofit is gearing up to brave this weekend's winter storm to help local nurses and healthcare workers get to work safely.

Volunteers from Heaps of Jeeps will be giving rides to nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Hospital and BridgePointe Health Campus from Sunday evening through Monday morning.

Organizer John Yochum told WAKC News Now that this is something the group has done for a few years now.

"It's an easy way to help, and it fits with our mission of supporting the people who help us every day," said Yochum.

The group is putting together a list of people who want to volunteer.
