VINCENNES, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - As sunshine and warmer weather return, so does a popular event along the Vincennes Riverwalk.

The annual Food Trucks on the Wabash kicks off its eighth season this Monday.

Organizers Tonya and Brian Grove say the idea for the event was inspired by their family travels.

“We wondered why Vincennes couldn’t have something like this,” the Groves said. “So we decided—why not organize it ourselves?”

When the event first began, it featured just four or five food trucks.

Now, several years later, it has grown to include anywhere from nine to fourteen trucks, along with live music and added seating so visitors can sit, eat, and enjoy the evening.

The Groves say their favorite part of the event is the strong sense of community it brings each Monday night.

“Everyone is enjoying time with friends and family,” they said. “And over the years, we’ve certainly made new friends through the event.”

This Monday’s lineup includes Agaves Mexican Grill, Big Boys Burgers, Whittaker Beef, Fosters Frosters, Sip It, Thianamite, Squatch City Wraps, and Kolb’s Culinary Creations.

The band Just 1 More will provide live music.

Food Trucks on the Wabash takes place every Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. along the Riverwalk in downtown Vincennes.
