The Lincoln High School Army JROTC is hosting the event in partnership with the Indiana Military Museum, the Local Veterans Organization, Sons of the American Revolution, Wreaths Across America, and Fred Schliker.
The ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 29, at the Indiana Military Museum, located at 715 S. Sixth Street Road in Vincennes.
Community members can drop off worn or damaged U.S. flags at the museum gate starting at 10:00am.
A formal retirement ceremony, led by JROTC cadets, will begin at 10:30am.
Now in its fifth year, the event provides a respectful way to retire U.S. flags and wreaths in accordance with tradition.
It also offers the community a chance to honor the nation’s symbols and recognize the service and sacrifice of veterans.
