BRUCEVILLE, Ind. (We Are Knox County) - We are working to gather more information about an accident at a Knox County coal mine.
Knox County Central Dispatch told WAKC News Now that the accident occurred at Sunrise Coal's Bruceville Portal, located on Perry Road.
According to dispatch, the initial call came in shortly before midnight.
WAKC News Now has confirmed that two medical helicopters were dispatched to the scene.
Details about the number of people injured and the severity of their injuries have not yet been released.

Sunrise Coal LLC, which operates the mine, is a subsidiary of Hallador Energy Company.
